Gateway Node on VMware ESXi/vSphere

This article explains how to deploy Gateway Node of Cloud Secure Web Gateway project into VMware vSphere/ESXi. Usually you will need to deploy one gateway node per client of yours in the client network.

First, download Gateway Node virtual appliance from our site and save it into a folder.

Extract the downloaded archive by right clicking on it and selecting Extract All.

Login into your VMware ESXi and click Create/Register a New Virtual Machine. On the opened wizard page, select Deploy Virtual Machine from OVF or OVA file and click Next.

Enter a name for the virtual machine, for example node1.client1.example.com, meaning the first node of the first client of yours and click on the Click to Select Files field.

Navigate to the unpacked folder and select all three files holding Shift button on the keyboard and then click Open button.

Note, that only two files will be shown as selected in the wizard, click the Next button.

Select the desired datastore, datastore3 in our case, but yours will be different of course, then click the Next button.

Select the network mapping and other options and click the Next button.

Finally, check if everything is fine and click the Finish button.

Wait till the appliance is uploaded into VMware ESXi and booted up automatically.
