Safe Browsing Service

Web Filtering Proxy is capable of protecting against web-based threats like malware, unwanted software, and social engineering sites using Google Safe Browsing API.

Important

Google enforces some limitations of this type of protection which you must comply with yourself. Also, protection is able to inspect much more URLs if HTTPS decryption is enabled.

Checks are performed by the separate Web Filtering Safe Browsing Service component running in gsbd.exe process. This service is installed as part of the application and can be managed by the standard Windows Services snap-in.

The service runs under standard built-in NETWORK SERVICE account. Usually, this service is restarted or reloaded when applying any changes made in the Admin UI of the application.
