Introduction

This tutorial illustrates how to quickly deploy the plain conventional proxy running in Microsoft Azure and protect access to it using incoming firewall rules and basic user authentication. The proxy will be deployed from the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.

It is assumed you already have the Microsoft Azure subscription and a dedicated resource group to deploy the resources to. In our examples further the resource group will be named azure-plain-proxy-rg.
