VMware vSphere/ESXi

This article explains how to download and deploy the Web Safety virtual appliance into VMware vSphere/ESXi.

First, download a virtual appliance from our site and unpack it into a folder.

Login into your VMware ESXi and click Create/Register a New Virtual Machine.

On the wizard page, select Deploy Virtual Machine from OVF or OVA file and click Next.

Enter a name for the virtual machine, for example websafety and click on the Click to Select Files field.

Navigate to the unpacked folder and select all three files holding Shift button on the keyboard and then click Open button.

Only two files will be shown as selected in the wizard, click the Next button.

Select the desired datastore, datastore1 in our case, but yours will be different of course, then click the Next button.

Select the network mapping and click the Next button.

Finally, check if everything is fine and click the Finish button.

Wait till the appliance is uploaded into VMware ESXi and booted up automatically.

Then, continue to configuring IP address of the virtual appliance.
