Manual Browser Proxy Settings

There are various methods on how to configure your browsers to use the Web Safety proxy. The most straightforward one is to directly point the browser to the proxy in the options. The following section indicates how this can be done.

Microsoft Edge

Just set the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) or IP address that the proxy listens on in Proxy Settings app as shown on the following screenshot (Microsoft Windows 10). Note, here we assume our proxy installed on machine named proxy.example.lan and listens on port 3128 (default port).

Google Chrome

Google Chrome uses the same system proxy settings as Microsoft Edge.

Mozilla Firefox

The IP address and port of the proxy can be set in Settings / Proxy tab. It is also possible to force the Firefox to use the configured system proxy settings by the Use system proxy settings option.

Select the menu on the right and click Settings.

Proxy Firefox Step 1

Type Proxy in the search field and click on Settings button.

Proxy Firefox Step 2

Type the proxy.example.lan and port 3128 and be sure to select the Also use this proxy for HTTPS checkbox.
