Deployment
In order to deploy Web Safety web filter in Amazon AWS, navigate to Amazon Marketplace, type web safety in the search box and hit Enter button.
You should now see the Web Safety Proxy virtual appliance listing in search results, so choose a PAYG or BYOL instance type and click on its title.
Click View Purchase Options.
Accept the subscription terms and wait till thank you for subscribing message is shown (note this step will be skipped if you have already subscribed to the Web Safety previously). Ensure the AWS region where you would like to deploy the instance is correct (US East in this case, but can be anything) and click Continue to Launch button.
Review virtual machine information, especially Network Security Group settings as shown on the following screenshot (note default security group/firewall rules allow for incoming connections to port 22/SSH, ports 80 and 443/Admin UI of Web Safety and port 3128 for proxy connections from the browser).
Scroll and click Launch button at the bottom of the page, which will show you the Instance Launched message.
Click on link to EC2 Console to finally see the instance up and running.
Note the properties of the running virtual machine at the bottom of the page. The most important properties are Instance ID and Public IP address which we will use to connect and login to the virtual machine on the next step.
